PWP-403 Error   You are not authorized to view this page!

Can the forum expert team or anyone tell me how I can get access to my web page and, or remove this error.

I have read all the help information on setting up a web page, but it does not give any trouble shooting help.

Thank you,

ladhill

Re: Publishing to Web Space

Hi ladhill,

This link provides details on the exact settings you'll need in your FTP client to upload and/or edit the files to your site.

As we've said, you'll need to ensure that the page you want to appear when browsing to the site is called index.html.

If you're still unable to view the site correctly or update accordingly, please call in to our Technical Support department on 0845 454 1111 or 151 from a VM phone line. We'd need to replicate and investigate the issue from our end, and for Data Protection reasons, this isn't possible via the forums.

Thanks.

Re: Publishing to Web Space

Will the Virgin expert team kindly give me instructions for what I asked for in the first place!!!

My web space gives an error message 403  "You are not authorized to view this page"

Is it asking too much to ask once again!!!   Will you please tell how I can view my page?

Re: Publishing to Web Space

well as said by myself and others you need to have a index.htm or index.html in your /htdocs folder, if that is there and still get the same error you need to call 151 or 0845 454 1111 for broadband technical support so we can take a look to see what's happening

Re: Publishing to Web Space

ah but ah - apparently our friend already knows this otherwise why did he shout at me!!!! WAAAAH!!!!! I have 15 domains and the index.html is the first one uploaded. Incidently, in case asked, there is no diff between html or htm files.

Hi ladhill,

We're all trying to assist you here. The 403 error that you're receiving is almost certainly because it's attempting to access a non-existent Index file, which is why we've advised that you need to ensure that the homepage of your web space needs to be titled as described.

I think that we're starting to go around in circles here, so if your index.htm file is present, or if you're not sure how to ensure this, it really would be best if you call in to Technical Support on 0845 454 1111 or 151 from a VM phone line. Our agents can then (with your permission) log into your web space and see where the problem lies. If you're unwilling to do this, I'm not sure that we can help further.

Thanks.
