virgin tv not working

Hi, so there's no sound or picture (though you can see the menu etc - it's just channels with no picture, you still see the info bar at the bottom and can still go on all menu features).

You can still access apps, e.g. Netflix, where there IS picture, but no sound.

It's not an issue with the tv (have tested with dvd player and xbox), nor the hdmi cable (have tested - despite being pretty sure it's not that).

Have restarted the box multiple times and run tests on virgin media site.

It's happened frequently over last few months but restarting the box has always fixed it, it's being persistent tonight though.

I've no idea about anything technical. Have had the same box for 5 years.
