In process on purchasing 4K UHD TV, it has up scaler (as per norm), however been advised that need to purchase faster specialist hdmi cables to improve picture /speed quality if plugging into TiVo box. Retailer (who I won't mention) mentioned a specialist cable (can't remember name) at a cost of £80, £50 if bought with tv - specially for virgin connections. Can anyone advise on this as seems costly and not sure if needed. Thanks

That's complete rubbish (I'm guessing Curry's\Dixons or the like, as they seem to have a standard practice of trying to flog overpriced cables). A standard HDMI cable will be fine, I wouldn't spend more than a tenner on one as long as you're only looking at a standard length (1-2 metres).
