tv channel removed

Hi,

I have virgin tv M and Virgin have removed channels 149 and 202 (horror and horror+1) from the package, no prior warning given as usual. Why have they done this?

One long-standing and dissatisfied customer.

Regards,

Re: tv channel removed

Thought it was just me. Suprised they didn't mention it. I'm not paying for Freeview channels.

I have lost Horror and Horror+1, CBS Reality, Action and Drama.

Pretty much the freeview.

Glad I have my Sky Box and NowTv.

Yeah, they really know how to treat their loyal customers, don't they?

Re: tv channel removed

I think they had CBS and Horror free for M users during April.

And now they have switched it off which has effected all M users new and old.

It's free on Freeview, Sky-Freesat/view, Freesat and freeview online apps.

If you have unlimited broadband, you view them online.

Re: tv channel removed

I had Horror free for quite a while then they removed it without notice. Latterly it then came back and I had it for a long time until it disappeared yesterday.

Re: tv channel removed

Seems to be an error on their half.

Did you try calling them on 150?

I assume they will just tell you what's free on M and within their rights.

Re: tv channel removed

Yes, I called 150 and the guy said these channels had been moved to M+ package.

Re: tv channel removed

CBS channels offered a Freeview of their channels, which has now expired.

Linked is the channel guide from April, which states at the very bottom:

...CBS channels revert to original package tiers on 1 May 2016....

https://my.virginmedia.com/content/dam/virgoBrowse/docs/VirginMediaTVChannelGuide.pdf

Freeview & Freesat cost the broadcaster money, for which they will get no return. VM is a pay TV platform. It is the the broadcasters decision whether to join TV M & likewise get no return, or to join a higher pack as these guys have & take a cut of the income from it.

Re: tv channel removed

I only found the horror channel a couple of weeks ago and set it up as one of my favourites. Now I can't remove it from favourites and it remains greyed out. Any suggestions before I phone customer services?  Seems to be a glitch caused by Virgin switching it off without warning. I've tried turning the box off and on again.
