swap my boxes

Hi I've recently rejoined virgin I've got a TiVo box in the living room and normal virgin box in the bedroom is it possible to swap these round so the TiVo is uptairs

I can't think of any reason why not (done the same thing in the past myself).

Just disconnect the cable at the Tivo/V+ end ( not the wall) and If any attenuators (metal in-line adaptors) have been installed  as well, leave them on the cable as well ( this is because the signal would have been measured with these in place).

Keep the viewing card with the existing machines as well.

TiVos don't have viewing cards anymore. If you have one in it then its just collecting dust as the tivo no longer reads them.

Welcome to the Community, I can see that you've already been able to meet some of the Fourm already, which is great Smiley Happy

 

I would like to ask if you've been able to swap them, providing the cables are all tightly fastened there shouldn't be too much problem.
