poor sound quality

My virgin media v+hd box yet again has poor sound quality but it was alright about an hour ago

Welcome to the Community!

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your sound.

 

Here's a few things you can try:-

 

  • Check all the connections at the back of the box and TV set
  • Try a different HDMI lead
  • Try a different HDMI port in the TV

Do you get any sound issue when using another device connected to the TV, such as a DVD player or games console?

Yes it is connected to my Xbox one normally the sound quality and everything else is spot on and ive only ever had it running though my Xbox one Smiley Happy

If it's working through the Xbox then we can rule out the TV speakers as the cause of the sound issues.

We're you able to do the other checks with the cables?

If you haven't done so already, a reboot may help although most issue with sound on the V+ box is usually down to the cabling.
