how long to get up and running?

hi,

got my self install pack for just tv, plugged it all in and im just seeing AP52 on the VHD box.

i have made the call to activate on the automated line, double checked all connections and all is good, service is reported as being good on the website, diagnostics on box shows that no signal is being received - is this because virgin need to switch me on at the head end and will just take time to complete? - if so, how long will it take?

Re: how long to get up and running?

Are you a Broadband customer already?

If not, then I'd put my money on there being a signal issue at your property. It is one of the hazards of sending out self-install kits without the signal being tested, which would be a normal part of an engineer install.

Re: how long to get up and running?

Unlikely. The fact that the box has passed LD40 means that it has received the network ID table, so it has got through part of the boot sequence. My money is on the upstream connection thats the issue.

Re: how long to get up and running?

It was connected the first time you ran it, so its now stored in the box. Its falling over where the upstream connection has to handshake with the network to confirm the box & viewing card are paired & registered.

Re: how long to get up and running?

No, it's never been online.
In the diagnostic page, it says 'card not paired' and all the boxes are red
