Because the TiVo is coming out of standby

Yep, I'd recommend turning off the power saving and not switching the TiVo into Standby, it's how it's designed to work and you lose some functionality if it goes into standby (namely the ability to rewind or record a program from the beginning if you turn on in the middle of something that looks interesting)

Re: Why "Waking up" when we switch tv on? For at least 10 secs.

Personally I have mine set to sleep after two hours of non-use which seems fair enough to me. It is therefore in deep sleep mode most of the night and when no-one is in the house.

That does not stop planned recordings, updates, etc.

Nice to be able to post again, after their mistake (removed by the Censorship team).

Spoiler
yes. Thanks but while on SKY I did not have to wait 10 to 15 secs to watch TV after switching it on.

As explained above, you either have power saving switched on, with the short delay while it comes out of standby, or you disable power saving, never put in in to standby and it is immediately available for you.

I prefer the former but it is your choice.
