Why cant I cancel my contract with Virgin Media on a sunday?

Due to the ever increasing costs of having Virgin TV I have decided to cancel my contact, only to be told that I will have to ring on a weekday.

 

I was told that they can increase/decrease my TV package but not cancel it.

 

Frankly, this isn't good enough.

Has to go through Retentions in the UK, who don't work on Sundays.

150 option 4 then 5

8 till 8 Mon to Fri

8 till 6 on Sat.

That's what I've been told by the folk on the phone. I'm not available to ring on a weekday. Why don't they work on a Sunday? Not good good enough.

Can you please provide me with an email address to contact the customer service/appropriate team. Due not being able to make a t/c I'll have to liaise via email.

They do not work on a Sunday because they are an on shore team with specialist training. Having them available 24/7 would result in more of the price hikes you and everyone else get upset about. 

You cant contact them by email either, its phone during opening hours or snail mail I am afraid.

I'm sorry but that's not good enough, all other companies have their customer services working on a Sunday.
Yours prices are high enough, and increasing to have a staff team working on a Sunday.
I've rang up and emailed you guys on here. I'm going to cancel my next payment. I've done enough to cancel, it's not my fault if your company can't effectively manage their staff.

If you are prepared to put up with VM wrecking your credit rating, then go ahead & cancel your payments. Putting notice of cancellation on a public forum is certainly not an acceptable format for any company to officially accept.

& if you haven't noticed, we are not employees. The staff forum team here don't work on a Sunday either, and cant deal with specific accounting issues if they wanted too , as it contravines the Data Protection Act.

As pointed out above, and is patently obvious from both the structure of these forums and the explicit statements by VM on the landing page, we are not employees of VM, simply normal customers like yourself. I get the distinct impression not much is good enough for you. Enjoy your adventures with SKY, take a look on THEIR forums and you will find their customer service is ropy at times as well. I would at no point defend VM's communication with its customers, it is at times frankly appalling.

But to reply in the way you have to people simply trying to point out your options takes a special sort of ignorance.
