V+ Box Faulty

I have a SA8300HD V+ Box which has served me well since I had it installed back in 2006.

 

There is something majorly wrong with the hard drive as I cannot access or play any of my recordings, Live TV & Delay TV no longer works and the box only functions as a standard V Box and a message pops up on screen to say my V+ service is unavailable right now with error Ref 2006.

 

When I try rebooting the box it cycles through the boot sequence and you can hear the hard drive spinning up and then there's a loud clunking noise coming from the box, the hard drive then spins down and then the hard drive spins up again and the same loud clunking noise is heard and this repeats several times until the boot up sequence has finished.

 

Please can I book a tech to visit to resolve the issues preferably on Saturday 21st November (8am-Noon)

Thank you for coming to the Community again, welcome back.

 

I'm very sorry to learn about the issues you've experienced, it does look like the box is showing some unusual signs and I'd like to get this looked at. 

 

I'd like to check the box from here and run some tests so I may help you more but i've not been able to access your account.

The engineer swapped out the old relic SA8300 box and replaced it with a Samsung V+ HD Box and all is working fine so far.
