My Tivo box has no picture or sound, I've turned it off and on again, unplugged it and left it for 30 minutes and then reconnected. I have verified that the TV is OK by connecting the HDMI cable to a Bluray player and watching a program and then moving the HDMI cable from the Bluray to the Tivo box. I have green power light so it's not in standby. I tried to bring up menus to see if it was just the cable signal, but zip on the screen.
I suspect the box is dead, but does anyone have any ideas?
Ok, a quick update. my wife rang VM helpdesk yesterday and following their suggestion I have been able to connect a SCART cable and get a signal, but the picture quality is awful as is the color. I'm going to ring the again tonight (was busy last night)
Thank you for coming in and posting again, it's good to see a familiar face
I am sorry that the TiVo picture quality isn't the best and I wish that the engineer visit is quick and resolves this for you. What time are they coming? Be sure to write back and let the Community know how you get on
Although I was a little annoyed that it took a week, the technician confirmed my suspicions that the Tivo box was blown. He also checked the V+ box and Cable modem were OK. He agreed that it was likely caused by a lightning strike and apparently VM has had about 200 calls in our area recently for the same thing.
