Sound distortion

About twice an hour of an evening we get sound distortion which lasts for about 20 seconds then goes away. Never had a problem with Sky. It always happens at the most important times . Arrghh.

Does the distortion happen at the same time every night?

How are you listening to the audio? Through the TV or through external speakers? How is your box connected to either?

Hi the time varies,mainly starts early evening and lasts all night, happens a few times an hour. My box is attached via a hdmi cable, using the tv speakers. It's a brand new cable as I was advised to change it as that could be the problem but it's just the same.

It has happened during the day in the past but it is mainly of an evening.

If you rewind the affected portion of the programme, is the distortion still present?

Haven't tried , is it a common problem? Fact is it happens and constantly rewinding is no a solution.

Not that I've heard of - I'm endeavouring to deduce the source.

If it's not present when you rewind the broadcast then it's not coming in via the cable connection and being committed to the HDD. That would rule out the wider VM network.

Have you tried a different HDMI socket on the TV?
