Smartcard invalid error

I need help getting my VBox HD back on, it has been switched off and put away for a few months as my bedroom had been so unorganised & when I've got it out and set up today it's only got the 5 freeview channels I'm not able to watch anything else! Can someone send a signal or something to get it back on please?

Hi think you need to ring them, I believe virgin are phasing out old V boxes, and replacing them with TiVos, because older boxes will cease to wor.Regards Micky

That's not completely correct. It's currently the oldest V+ HD boxes that are being decomissioned. All other V boxes will still work

However when a box is disconnected for a long time, it will lose the authorisation for the channels. This can be fixed by calling in - but it won't need the box to be replaced (usually).

Hi loziilou90,

 

Welcome to the Community!

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your VHD box.

 

If the box is switched off for too long then it misses out on too many updates. I've sent a signal hit to the box to update it for you.

 

Let me know if you're still experiencing any issues and I'll check it out for you.
