Smartcard Invalid (Ref. 3014)

Hi

I've had my Virgin box in the kitchen switched off for ages and tried to watch BT Sport this evening. I've got a message saying my smartcard is invalid with a reference of 3014 at the bottom.

Any way this can be fixed without calling the helpline?

Oh no! That's not good. Try and take the card out and clean it with a cotton bud and a bit of tissue then blow out the socket (like a NES cartridge), reinstert the card and reboot the box. If that fails, you may need to call the helpline unfortunately.

Welcome to the Community!

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your V+ box.

 

I've run a diagnostic on the box and the Smartcard status is showing fine. The problem is with the Input signal that feeds your V+. I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange for a technician appointment.
