Re: Sky sports mix

The thoughts are its unlikely. This will be a free "teaser" channel aimed at Sky's own non Sports subscribers, rather like the BT Freeview offering. All the content being offered will already be available to existing Sky Sports subscribers.

Yes.  On certain packages...  So I suspect unlikely to be on M TV,  probably on More TV (like Sky Sports News HQ) and definitely on XL TV.  Looks better than BT Sport!

http://www.skysports.com/more-sports/news/11095/10543289/new-channel-sky-sports-mix-to-launch-on-aug...

The launch of Sky Sports Mix will further cement Sky Sports' position as the first choice for sport across a range of channels and products. Sitting alongside our award winning channel line-up Sky Sports Mix will be available in the same number of Sky TV homes as Sky Sports News HQ, a channel with an annual reach of 17m viewers. Sky Sports Mix will also complement Sky's growing digital audience, where 35m monthly users engage with a range of Sky Sports products as well as its presence on leading platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.

Sky Sports Mix will be available to all Sky TV customers (not including NOW TV), as well as on selected Virgin Media packages, as well as providing a significant reach for a selection of the live sport available on Sky Sports at no extra cost.

Sky Sports Mix schedule highlights:

Wednesday 24 August

12.30pm Live Sky Sports Mix launch

1.30pm Live England v Pakistan ODI

Thursday 25 August

10.30am Live European Tour Golf - Made In Denmark

Friday 26 August

Saturday 27 August

12noon Live F1® Belgian GP qualifying

7.15pm Live La Liga - Real Madrid v Celta Vigo

Sunday 28 August

12.30pm Live F1® Belgian GP

Re: Sky sports mix

I wonder if Sky Sports Mix will have the 30 minute Premier League highlights on Sunday/Monday early hours that used to hide behind the red button.   Reading between the lines, "opening a window on the amazing action shown on Sky Sports every day"  seems to imply some highlights.  With a bit of luck they will have the GAA finals!

Re: Sky sports mix

Is it not the same as sky sports but it's a channel for those who don't have it? Maybe one of the reasons for the price increase of 5.1%

It's Sky Sports lite.  A random selection of live events, highlights and mainly documentaries and magazine shows.  Purpose seems to be to give you a flavour of what you are missing so you subscribe.  More likely to make people question why the hell they are paying £18/month for BT Sport. Also probably will be used to sell more advertising on the back of larger audiences for less popular live action. Doubt it is the cause of the price rise as that impacts Broadband and Big Easy (M TV - so unlikely to have it).

Re: Sky sports mix

I better make the most of it in the next couple of weeks then before I drop down to M TV.  GAA Hurling final + Ireland international.

Sky Sports Mix is now available on our M+, L and XL TV packages
