Samsung V+ box - third tech visit and still not sorted.

Been having issues for ages with the V+ box unable to record, pause, display TV guide etc etc..

Each time the signal is tested by the technician it's apparently fine.

So far I've had cable replaced, a new box and yesterday a new remote it was fine for an hour or so after the technician left but now it's gone again!

The Tivo box I have downstairs and my broadband are fine so what'a going on and where do I go from here???

Customer services need to make sure your box is registered as a V+ HD & not a VHD, as this can cause some of the issues mentioned. It is also could be a fautly refurb box.

CS have confirmed that it is registered as a V+ box.

Apparently the hard drive needs to be reformatted and they couldn't do it remotely so a fourth "senior" technician is now booked for tomorrow  Smiley Frustrated

Reformatting is a pretty straightforward DIY job:

 

1. Press the HOME Button
2. Press down the Play button for 5 seconds (E-00 Will appear on the display)
3. Press the V+ Button. (E-01 Will appear on the display)
4. Press the CH - button 4 times. (As you do this hdd1, hdd2, hdd3 and then hdd4 will appear on the display)

 

Reformatting will then begin and rFt will appear on the display.

 

The process can take between 5-8 minutes depending on how full the hard drive is, and once complete the V+ drive will reboot. Following the reboot, the "Live tv" indicatior should light next to the channel display, & the recording functions should then be active.

The drive couldn't be formatted apparently so I'm now on my 3rd box. 

All seems to be working ok so far, fingers crossed Smiley Happy
