Hi, my Tivo box started working only intermittently recently and when I phoned I was told the hard drive had 'gone' and the box needed replacing. I've read quite a few posts on here and all the replies are that an engineer needed to visit to check the box over. This isn't a complaint but I'm just wondering how they knew my box couldn't be fixed?
I thought I'd step in to answer your question if that's ok? The box has a non replaceable hard drive, so if we're detecting any errors from our end then it's likely an engineer would need to come to take a look and potentially replace the box.
