RT UK - when will it be available?

Why does Virgin not support RT UK when it is a freeview channel? I got told I'd get it but no go - very disappointing as it's a very good channel with excellent programmes. Any progress on it being available?

Nope its not. This is only true of Hybrid TV platforms like BT TV, TalkTalkTV & the recently launched PlusNet offering, which use an IPTV streaming box piggy-backed onto a Freeview DTT platform receiver to provide their services.

Freeview DTT, Freeview on Satellite (Freesat & Freesat from Sky), & TV M cable services are not the same thing.

Re: RT UK - when will it be available?

VM TV is not freeview. Its a closed platform. Content providers come to arrangements in both their and VM's commercial interest. So the bar for a channel with high desirability is low, for specialist interest channels it is likely up to the broadcaster to sweeten the deal to be carried on the system.

So its likely to be RT you need to ask.

Anyways as VM are notoriously cagey about what is "coming soon" you are unlikely to hear anything official unless its signed sealed and about to air.
