Pixelation on several channels -TCM Universal unwatchable

Recurring problem which is also affecting TiVo recordings. Done the usual checks and tests but nothing comes up as being faulty and it keeps happening. Noticed quite a few posts along the same lines, pretty

annoying! Even BBC channels have gone wonky now! Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to heart that you're getting pixelation on various channels right now.  I'll be happy to help check this out for you.

 

I have taken a look at your box remotely and all looks fine with the signal and power levels.  There's no area faults that I can detect.

 

Can you please let me know what channels are affected that you've noticed so far?  Also if you can get back to me with the following details that would be great:

 

* Is the box well ventilated?

* Have the leads in the back of the box all plugged in securely?

Thanks for your reply. On the evening I posted my message, I was unable to watch any of the BBC channel, ITV, Channels 4 and 5 as well as TCL and Universal. I have checked ll connections and can confirm everything is secure and well ventilated. There appears to be some distortion still on Universal again today. The problem seems to be intermittent and it affects any TiVo recordings made when the problem exists. Hope you can explain.

Thank you for your quick reply gill139,

 

I have carried out some further checks with the box remotely, If you don't mind I'd like you to reboot your box to refreshing things over if that's ok?  Once you've done that, let me know and I will re-check the box remotely.  

 

I know you may have tried this already but I'd like this to be done for diagnostic purposes.  Let me know when the box has been rebooted and I can help further.

That's much appreciated.  I have re-checked the box and it's had the desired affect that the signal issues I was detecting earlier have now been repaired.

 

If you can monitor this over the next 24-49 hours and let me know how it goes either way.  If the fault does persist then I will need to take further actions to resolve this for you.

 

I hope all will be ok, keep me posted on how things go.

The signal issue was relating to the Pre RS Errors.  There's various causes for this and I'm unable to detect that at this stage.

Hi Collette

Thanks for your reply, I have been keeping a note of any interference over the weekend. Watching the England v Scotland  rugby game on Saturday, there was interference, at roughly the same time ,6.30PM, on Sunday there was interference on Film 4 during X Men and on Sky Living around 9.30PM during Elementary. On Mondays there I regularly pixelation during University Challenge, between 8 and 8.30pm.  This hasn't made viewing impossible but it spoils the viewing experience.

Not sure if you will be able to sort it out completely but thanks.
