Moving house and transferring services

Will be moving around the end of April and wondered how much notice I need to give for a smooth transfer of services to the new place.

Also can I take my existing kit to the new house for the new engineer to install as I currently have a Samsung Virgin HD+ box which I'd like to hang on to as I don't want a second Tivo box.
