For the past month I have had a corrupt picture from my V+ Box (serial number ending in 642) but it has now reached the point where it is rebooting every few minutes. If I leave the box off it will frequently freeze (the time is stuck) and I have to turn it off and on.
The signal strength to the box seems to be very low compared to the TIVO box downstairs and other posts here imply this may have damaged the tuner.
I've managed to copy some details from the technical section of the V+ box in case it helps :
SNR 32.0dB to 33.0dB
Pre RS Errors 0 per 0.5s Post RS Errors 51 per 0.5s
The SNR is low, which is causing the Post RS errors. Could be the box is on the way out, or even a faulty splitter or cable connector could cause this. In all cases where faults start developing, ring faults & get them investigated.
It is not as if you have to pay for repairs & replacements. You equipment is rented, so the rental not only covers the cost of the services, but fixing of problems you have receiving them. Dont put up with problems for a month. If issues continue for more than a couple of days, call faults & get the problem investigated.
