Invalid smartcard

I've not had my V Box on for a while, so when I have just attempted to watch some tele again in my bedroom majority of my channels are unavailable and a message pops up saying smartcard invalid. What can I do to rectify this?

Re: Invalid smartcard

Just to add, VM's TV boxes are designed to be powered 24/7 (especially the TiVO).

This issue is likely to happen again unless the box is left powered up overnight at least once a week.

Re: Invalid smartcard

Hi Martynf89,

Welcome to the Community and posting your comments Smiley Happy

My apologies for the TV issue you've experienced on V box. I have been looking into this and have seen some issues on one or more boxes in the home. I would like to arrange an engineer out to help with the situation and check out all boxes in the home.

I've sent you a 'Private Message', you can find this by clicking on the little purple envelope near the top right of the page.

Take care.

Ben

Re: Invalid smartcard

You will have to call VM on 150 from a Virgin Media Landline or 0345 454 1111 and just tell them you have had the box off for a while and it's stating *this error message and code* and they will be able to sort it there and then on the phone for you. They might ask you to turn it off and back on at some point.
