Help me with code 7400

Got a new Virginia box off a friend as mine blew up but have error code 7400 and will not go can you help me, this is my mums virgin account and got a new box so she didn't find out but now have this error message

First of all, the box you got from your friend belongs to Virgin Media and you should return it to him/her. It cannot be made to work.

Your mother, as the account holder, should report your broken box to Virgin Media. How did you manage to blow it up anyway?

Surely when you own up to your mum she'll just put you on the naughty step?

I left my window open and the rain got in okay looks like I got some owning up to do then oh god give me strength

I just wanted to pop by and see how things are today?  Hope all is well and Mum wasn’t too unhappy.

As Ernie_C mentioned the borrowed box from your friend won't work as each box is linked with a specific account so there's nothing we can do to get that working for you.

If your Mum gives us a call or a shout on here we'll be happy to arrange for an engineer to call round and fix/replace the current one.
