Help changing from SKY to a Tivo box.

Hi all, My Tivo box should be turning up this week but just want to pick your brains on self installation. I've had sky for a number or years and when moved into my house chase cables into the wall to accommodate for this. My problem is the incoming for the existing Virgin phone and internet comes in the opposite corner to the room to my TV. (Virgin is on an outside wall and TV in centre of the house) I use to run all the TV's in the house from the second outlet from the skybox but when changing to SKY+ they did away with this so its now useless. Basically I have the 2 cables from the dish running under my floorboards upstairs then in the wall to the box. I then also have a TV point and spare running to my loft to a booster. The sky and digital TV was sent from the booster to all other TV's in the house. A magic eye allowed me to change over from my bedroom. I suppose my questions would be can and how do I connect to the Virgin internet box assuming TV comes down this as well?? Can I simply run in a coaxial cable up the outside of my house, through the loft then pick up the spare coaxial cable running in the wall down to my TV? (The outlet for this is the female standard TV outlet) Any help would be great.

Re: Help changing from SKY to a Tivo box.

If you are installing a TiVO & a Superhub, you will be sent a splitter & three short lengths of cable about 1m long. If this is not suitable for you to put the TiVO & hub where you want them then you should contact VM & opt for an engineer install instead. I must point out that Virgin use specialised coax cable. Satellite cable is not up to spec, & as all their cabling forms part of the street network, anything sub standard could affect your neighbours services as well as your own. Also signal levels will need adjusting. As far as feeding other sets is concerned, the TiVO does have a SCART socket, which you can plug into a modulator, & then feed analogue RF round the house.
