Downgrade from TiVO to V+ HD

Hi,

TiVo is so slow, it is ultimately not fit for purpose. I bought a Fire TV, and iPlayer and Netflix are a dream to use. I've had TiVo since it was first available, and I can honestly say I've never seen any of the thumbsup features used to record something i wasn't expecting.

I'm currently out of contract, can I just get a V+ HD, as I have no need for TiVo services now (thumbsup and apps), and I don't want to pay the extra TiVo monthly fee.

How can I swap out for a V+ HD box??

You could downgrade to a V HD box. It may not work out any cheaper.I dont believe V+ hd boxes are provided any more and even for those who still have them they cost the same as TiVo.

There is no way you can replace your TiVo with a V+ HD.

In fact, today's announcements effectively means the TiVo is currently the only available STB (until the V6 is announced and available).

Then there's a hidden price increase.....the TiVo monthly fee.

Surely someone must have spotted this??

I just saw that.  So TiVo is all there is.  An extra £7.50 as an additional box as opposed to the £6.50 I pay for the VHD box.

There is no monthly fee for TiVo as a main box.

"There is no monthly fee for TiVo as a main box." {how do I quote another user in this forum software}

I just received my new residential contract (not yet accepted through the docusign system) and there's a line on there for TiVo Monthly Fee

Re: Downgrade from TiVO to V+ HD

Although the fee is technically separate in regards to the contract listing, it's accounted for in all the current quoted TV pricing.

Since last November TiVo has been a required component of all TV services, and from today TiVo is the only STB available.

We have only ever had a v box HD and when I enquired about a Tivo I was told it would be £6-50 per month more.

This is going back about 3 years so could even cost more now.

Flossy.
