Connecting VBox after removing an old VCR

For a long time now my VBox has been connected via a VCR / DVD machine, however the VCR is no longer working and whilst I can get a picture there is no sound, so I want to reconnect the VBox without the VCR. Is this easy to do, is it just a matter of removing the scart from the VBox to the VCR and making a direct connection to the TV?

Re: Connecting VBox after removing an old VCR

Hi Vasquez2,

Thanks for coming by Smiley Happy

Yes all you need is a scart lead to connect the box direct to the TV set.  If it is already connected in this way and you have no sound, it may just be a loose of faulty scart lead.  To ensure it is connected securely, removed the scart lead and re-insert and this should be enough to resolve this.  If it does it's worth using a different scart lead.

Inside the scart lead there are a number of pins that has a specific function, if the pin that provides sound is loose or faulty this can stop the sound from working.

Let me know how you get on, I'm here to help if you need me.
