We have a tivo box in our lounge which is perfect where it is. When we were offered multi-room we asked the engineer to set up the 2nd regular box in the upstairs bedroom directly above the lounge. To do this he ran a cable up the outside of the house and into the bedroom where he fitted the small white box. However, we have decided that the 2nd box would probably be better suited in a different room.
Is it possible for this change to be made and if so, how would I go about it? I'm assuming the small white box would need to be moved and a cable ran to the proposed new location so I'd have to book an engineer to come out... or is this change not available?
Making changes to VM network cabling is against the terms & conditions of service. There are 2 reasons for this: 1) VM re-uses frequencies that used for normal broadcasting, so the system has to be "watertight" against ingress, or it could cause interference to yours or your neighbours services. For this reason specialised cabling & connectors are used. 2) Any changes to the network cabling will affect your signal levels, which then have to be adjusted in the local cabinet.
