Cannot watch recorded programs

I recently cancelled my Sky Sports subscription as I only had it for rugby union, and there's plenty on BT Sport which I get with my 'Big Kahuna' package. I had about 20 games I'd recorded from Sky Sport. When I wanted to watch them a message appeared saying I was not subscribed to the channel. I recorded these games when I was subscribed (obviously) and therefore had paid for them. Why will Virgin now not let me watch them?

Re: Cannot watch recorded programs

The commercial agreement that Virgin Media have with Sky includes a requirement that any programmes recorded from Sky channels that are not part of your current subscription cannot be viewed.

This applies to all Sky channels, but doesn't currently isn't required by any other content provider.

This is covered in the help article here: http://help.virginmedia.com/system/viewArticle.jsp?uuid=F4F18D13-D684-40CE-9FD2-5C27BB8D2273
