Re: Can you remove greyed out channels from channel losing thanks for any help

Hi Michelehardy,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting on the ForumSmiley Happy

Dannylau is correct, on the main EPG, all the channels are listed and are unable to be removed. However, you can use My Favourites as a TV Guide with only the channels that you want on there.

If you have a V Box, V HD Box or V+ Box, you can add or remove channels from your Favourites any time you like, via the Home Page.

Here’s how:

1.Press Home on your remote control.
2.Choose Settings.
3.Select your favourite channels from the list then press OK to add them (and OK to remove them).

For TiVo®:
1.Select Help & Settings on the Home screen.
2.Choose Settings.
3.Choose Channels.
4.Select Channel List
5.Highlight a channel and press  on your TiVo remote to make it a favourite.
6.To remove a channel from your favourites, press .

Using your Favourites

If you have a V Box, V HD Box or V+ Box, there are two easy ways to get to your Favourites:
•Either press Favourites (Fav) on your remote, or
•Press the red button when you’re in the Mini Guide.

If you have a TiVo box, you can choose select your favourite channels by pressing Home on your remote then by selecting TV Guide > My favourites. You can also press the blue button to choose from the available channel types, including your favourite channels, when in the TV guide. When you select one, only channels of that type will be displayed in the TV guide.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how you get on with this.

Kind regards.

Or show your kids what is on the porn channels.

Re: Can you remove greyed out channels from channel losing thanks for any help

Hi arrgee1991,

Thank you for your post, which highlights a very sensitive issue with being able to access adult channels, if a customer so chooses, and making sure that children cannot have access to these.

Virgin Media certainly take this issue seriously and our TiVo® boxes are capable of protecting children from viewing the adult channels and listings.

First of all, it is recommended that a secure pin number is set up on the TiVo®, to keep children from viewing inappropriate content.

Next, simply go to Help & Settings > Parental Controls > Hide Adult Channels and these channels will no longer show up on the EPG, so children won't be "shown what is on the porn channels", as you put it. The instructions on how to hide adult channels for the various V boxes as well as the TiVo® can be found on this link.

Any queries on how to change settings on a TiVo® or V+ box can always be accessed 24/7 on www.virginmedia.com/help or we are always happy to help here on the Community Forum.

Kind regards.
