If I remember correctly, something's overheating. Usually the V_card. Is the V+ box reasonably well ventilated? Per haos try taking thecrad out with the V+ powered off, clean it, let it cool down (it will be hot); put it back and switch on.
VM are obsoleting the V+ box and will soon be replacng it with a TIVO box; at least that's what happened to me.

I'm very sorry to learn about the AP53 error on the box, I'm glad that you've had some helpful advice from a member today, thanks Sephiroth
I've noticed that the box still isn't operating on the network and is offline. I'd like to arrange an engineer if you prefer to remain with the box, (calling in would be best as they may be able to give you a great deal).
