can't forward through recorded film

Hey guys,

Just had the V6 installed - so far so good'ish.  My wife was watching a film last night (kickboxer - a classic) and started to doze so hit record, turned everything off and went to bed, this morning pressed play - film started at the beginning so pressed fast forward, it gets to 12 minutes and stops with the option to 'delete recording' or save (something along those lines) if you stop it at 11 minutes and try to watch past the 12 it stops, does that make sense?

Not the end of the world as we have seen it a few times but a worry for when we record new series etc.

Thanks in advance. DAVID.

Re: can't forward through recorded film

When you say she turned everything off.....do you mean she didn't leave the V6 in standby but actually turned it off completely? Cos in that case it wouldn't be able to record.

Look at the recording hiccoughs to see why it wasn't recorded past 12mins. Might give you a clue

Re: can't forward through recorded film

Thanks for the reply, she turned the box off / standby (light went red) but had watched a lot more than 12 minutes which is why I thought it strange.

Looking in hiccups didn't really help as there are a few deleted recordings etc where we have been sussing out series, only wanting new shows not streamed and not from series one etc. etc. - it's not the easiest of things to suss out but think we have got there.

One annoying thing is with Sky you could just set a reminder which would pop up on the screen, V6 reminds but records as well - we don't want to record it as well, if we did we would choose record!  we will suss it out eventually, just had Sky for the last ten years and you kinda get used to how simple it is. kind of like the ease of use between an iPhone and Android.

Thanks again, your help is appreciated

.DAVID.

Re: can't forward through recorded film

Hi David,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you're having trouble getting used to the V6 box.

We don't have an option for reminding only on the V6 box. It will record it instead so you can watch it at any time.

The V6 interface is very different but once you've been on it a few times you'll be wishing you changed over year ago Smiley Wink

If you have any further issues, come back and let us know so we can help too.

Thanks,
