You may need to pair your remote with your V6

My remote was not being as responsive as I thought it would be, and when I moved it from line of sight to the V6 it didn't work.

A quick look in settings/devices and I spotted the pairing option. After doing it the remote is now nice and responsive.

Re: You may need to pair your remote with your V6

Hi steveh2,

That is great advice so thanks for sharing.

Just to let anyone reading this thread know, to pair your remote just follow these steps:

1. Go to Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Remote Control Pairing.

2. Press and hold the Info button for 7 seconds until the light at the top of the remote goes solid green then flashes green twice.

Thanks,

Re: You may need to pair your remote with your V6

I had the same problem but although the bluetooth now works it's not responsive, it's takes several clicks to make it work, how do I get it back to infa-red, this is unusable?
I've tried several times to re-pair it but it's the same problem.

Any suggestions?

BTW there is an alternate way to pair-
Or, by using the V6 box and remote:

Press the Channel Down button on the front of the V6 box for 10 seconds
Then, hold the Info button down on the remote for 7 seconds. The light on the top of the remote will flash green twice

EDIT:

After posting this I went back and the remote works fine! so maybe it takes a while to pair properly. I now have the V6 box inside a cupboard, although as my wife just pointed out the old remote is handy to have as a second remote.

I spoke too soon the remote is very erratic, now it hardly works at all, continuous clicking like going down the TV guide doesn't work at all, interestingly sometimes it shows a red light sometimes not, could it be stuck ? I"ll keep trying ..thank god we have the old remote..!

Re: You may need to pair your remote with your V6

Hi, new to V6 tivo, have tried to pair my remote using both of the methods above. Each time I try, I hold the info button for 7 seconds like it says and all i get is the red light on the remote just stays on all the time. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Mimiata,

Welcome to the community and thanks for coming by. Smiley Happy

I just wanted to pop by and see how you're getting on with the remote control today?  If you still require any further assistance please don't hesitate to give us a shout.  In the meantime I thought I'd pop our Remote Control Guide here in case it may be useful.

I'm here to help so let me know how you're getting on.

Re: You may need to pair your remote with your V6

Hi Collette,

Have tried all methods you have sent details through for. The remote will still not pair up to use in radio mode. Also when I reset the remote, the green light flashes 4 times. I have tried holding the + on my V6 box to see if the remote is paired, but get nothing. This is getting quite tedious now as the box will only work by having the remote pointed at it

Many thanks

Keith
