Virgin V6 via HDCP 2.2 Receiver to Plasma

Good morning

Is anyone else having issues connecting the V6 box via a AV Receiver ?

My set up is

Pioneer Plasma LX6090 which has HDMI but not sure if HDCP 2.2 compliant

AV receiver from Denon AVX 3300W which is HDCP 2.2 compliant but when I connect my V6 box to the amp via CBL/SAT the dreaded HDCP 2.2 error message appears.

Is there a way around this?

I also have a Pioneer Plasma in my front room an older model but it works fine on there without the amp.

Annoying, I have been told that you can possibly use a converter?

Re: Virgin V6 via HDCP 2.2 Receiver to Plasma

Can you check if the AMP has any non HDCP 2.2 ports.
Often only 3 out of 5 ports will be HDCP 2.2.

If this is the case, move the Tivo onto the port which doesn't support HDCP 2.2 and it will force the V6 to downgrade to HDCP 1.4

You can buy HDFury devices which are supposed to remove the HDCP 2.2, but it's £100+ I don't think you would need to spend.

Hi jonandmarkuk, will try this sounds feasible, if this does not I will purchase the HDCP 2.2 to 1.4 converter as I have heard the LightInTheBox version for £36 works apparently.

Does the V6 do any sound formats higher than Dolby digital?    If not then just connect it straight to the tv and run a digital optical lead to the receiver.  That's the way I'm set up.

Re: Virgin V6 via HDCP 2.2 Receiver to Plasma

Hi guys, Its working perfectly now with a HDCP 2.2 to 1.4 HDCP converter purchased from lightinthebox.com. Its exactly the same product as the one going for £90 from Neet.

Cheers for your assistance

Re: Virgin V6 via HDCP 2.2 Receiver to Plasma

Hi CDB1 I could have gone down that channel using a digital optical to the receiver but I had already made the purchase of the converter which works amazingly well. I am connected from my TV via HDMI to the HDCP 2.2 ARC on my amp going through a lightinthebox converter.

Cheers for your assistance I think my wife wasn't to best pleased taking the 60 inch of the wall again!
