V6 remote stops working

Since having the V6 box installed, the remote stops working after about 4 hours or so.  I have turned the box on and off again after each time (approx 4 times now), and have completely reset the box deleting all info, but the remote has still malfunctioned.  

This is fast becoming a real pain.

Any ideas Virgin?

Some have issues with the remote if they hold it in the palm of their hand with the hand under the remote. It seems to work fine when held with fingers and the hand over the top of the remote. Not sure if that could be your issue?

Makes no difference how or where I hold the remote. Trying to repair the remote also fails to make any difference.

I have switched off every device that could possibly cause interference, but this makes no difference to operations.

Hi Manicmike500,

 

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you are having an issue with getting your remote control working. 

 

As simple as it sounds, have you tried repairing the remote with the V6 box? If not follow these steps to do this:

1. Go to Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Remote Control Pairing.

2. Press and hold the Info button for 7 seconds until the light at the top of the remote goes solid green then flashes green twice.

 

If this doesn't work then the issue could be related to a possible known issue.

NKE00008484: V6 (Remote not responding): The box no longer responds to key presses from the remote control.

 

Usually a reboot resolves this so if it's not then we may well need to look at a replacement. Try the tips here first: Fix Virgin TV Remote Problems
