V6 pricing

So i called to ask about v6. At the moment i have old tivo which is super slow and sometimes after selecting menu item you have to wait 10s for it to react.. 

And guy on the phone said to replace old one its £99 + £15 activation fee. As i understand i rent equipment, why the hell i have to pay £99? Sound completely unreasonable

As to the renting. Say you were in a contract to rent a Ford Escort from a Ford dealership, your contract is for the Ford escort only. If you wanted something newer like a Ford Subaru or whatever, there would be costs and contract changes involved.

They wouldn`t need to change the ford if it was a reliable piece of kit. The tivo box is not fit for purpose and VM know it

The hub 3 isn't much better. But when it comes down to it contractually, it is specific kit which customers are renting, regardless of how bad or good the specific bit of kit is. For example:

Contract 123456789, John Doe
£70 a month
1x TiVo 1TB
Landline Talk Anytime
Vivid 200Mb
Hub 3.0

It isn't setup like this:

Contract 123456789, John Doe
£70 a month
1x any STB you want - call us to let us know which one you want to use this month
Landline Talk Anytime
Vivid 200
Any hub you want - call us to let us know which one you want to use this month

You are renting it not buying it or on finance....

So yes if something newer and a better model comes on the market you should be able to exchange it....

After all do new customers pay more to rent it? No! so yes loyal customers are entitled to the upgrade for free after we are paying for a service....
