V6 boxes and SuperHub 3

I have two V6 boxes on a wired network, connected to a SuperHub 3.

When they were installed, I was told that in order for the V6 boxes to work, I needed to have the SuperHub 3 in standard router mode - they wouldn't be able to see each other if I switched it to modem mode and used a third party router.

Is this true? Or is it only true for installation? Is there something special about the SuperHub 3 that allows the boxes to see each other?

Re: V6 boxes and SuperHub 3

it's nonsense, as long as both boxes are on the same network it makes no difference

Re: V6 boxes and SuperHub 3

Cool, I'll give it a try.

To be honest, the guys installing the kit were very efficient and friendly, and did a great job, but they hadn't been given much information on the boxes themselves - I even had to point out that you could view recording on one box from the other, which they said wasn't possible. Not their fault, but it should be a priority at Virgin to get their staff up to speed!
