Always a good idea to search the forums, or at the least look at the News section: http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/News/Game-changing-Virgin-TV-launch/ba-p/3269538

Re: V6 box

NO even with the big press meeting today VM are still testing the box and in the new year the box will need a firmware update to allow full colour viewing and box has only 1TB and so VM will need to put out a 2TB later if they get any UHD / 4K shows to record.
The Box has been given chips which is reported to be 10 x quicker then old TiVo box.
Older customers with Full House TV & Broadband 200Mbps will get the box at £49 were others will Pay £99 and new customers can get the box in a months time .
It's likely that VM will have drop the price by Spring to push numbers up as the box only has 3 items better then old TiVo ( UHD/4K .. Chips speed ... No. of channels to record at same time )

So it shows better definition content, it's faster, it can record more at once.
All expected (and welcome) upgrades to a box designed to record and play back TV!

Oh, and it's much smaller too.

Actual release date tbc, but:
