V6 box ordering goes live now.

Just ordered my new V6 box along with a new hub 3 to replace a hub 2 which has been dropping SSID on WiFi..

Sadly VM will charge £99 for a second V6 even with the deal for a custom with top TV and Internet with phone, plus extras services. ....
Next Wednesday 1pm to 6pm
And bill is lower too as I signed up to another year with VM.

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

My package is..
New V6 ( replacement for 1 of 3 Tivo )
2 x Tivo 1TB
New Hub 3 with 200 Mbps
Sky Cinema
Phone weekend calls.

Didn't ask about the Telly Tablet as I found the cost of £299 to high as you can get a new laptop for that price and still watch VM shows with app ...

VM looking forward to my boxes ...

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

Hi Telewest,

Thanks for your post and it's great to hear you've order the new V6 box Smiley Happy

When adding a second V6 box, the price you pay regardless of what package you're on is £49.95. Only the first one would cost £99.95 if you're not on the Full House 200 or VIP Bundle.

Thanks,

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

Hi Telewest,

I'm really sorry to say but that is not correct.

If you are interested in ordering a second one, I can place notes on the account to confirm this for you.

Thanks,

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

Hi Telewest,

We're not able to take orders via the Community for the V6 box or anything else.

You'll need to give the team another call on 150 / 0345 454 1111 for them to add this Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

Just got of the phone ordering second V6 to add to my order with the price of £49

I was told we had to pay for any item to join the box to the Internet. ..
And told me it's £80 per box or I could buy my own for £25 from local shops ...

Is this right ?

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

So do the boxes have to be Ethernet linked then?

Re: V6 box ordering goes live now.

They are possibly referring to powerline adaptors.

Virgin Media though sell these for £35 plus £7 postage and packaging
http://www.virginmedia.com/shop/broadband/powerline/extending-your-network.html

These will be required if your box is too far away from the Hub 3 to utilise a wired network connection and it is not possible to move the hub closer to the V6 box.

I do believe that an internet networked connection is required, could be wrong as new V6 box I don't believe has an inbuilt modem like the existing TiVo box, so it has to get its internet from the Hub 3.

This is why VM have stated in some instances the Hub 3 will need to be moved next to the V6 box.
