V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

Hi,

I am considering upgrading to one of these but I have a question about connecting it to the VM homehub, basically do I need to connect it to a VM HH or can I just plug it into another networks (BT) router?

The reason I ask, is that the HH is upstairs, the box will be downstairs and its close to the BT router, I would prefer to use that rather than use power-line adaptors?

thanks

SuperHub ;-)

At present the box needs to be connected to a VM broadband connection.

Re: V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

Thanks for the response. The HH is in modem only mode, so I guess its still OK to use it in that mode and plus the V6 box in via powerline adaptors to the router or switch hanging off it?

Re: V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

The BT HomeHub cannot be used - a Virgin Media broadband connection, via your SuperHub (in router/modem mode) is needed.

Re: V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

As PrinterEld has already stated you cannot connect the V6 to a BT HH.

You can connect to the VM Hub 3 or Superhub 2/2AC via ethernet, power lines or WiFi (the latter depends on signal strength).

Re: V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

Sorry, i think there is some wires crossed here. I acknowledge that i need to connect to the HH, so if i read correct, i can do it via wi-fi as i get a pretty good signal in the house. The HH is in modem only mode and I am using an Apple airport extreme as a wi-fi router.

Re: V6 & connecting to the VM homehub

Yes, you are reading correctly. The confusion, if any, is that you keep referring to the Home hub, which is not a term VM use.
