I just wanted to pop by and let you know that this is currently being investigated by one of our fault teams.  We're yet to hear of an update but as soon as we know more we shall let you know.

The fault is that you updated the V6 box so that it is ONLY HDMI 2 Output and is no longer Compatible with HDMI 1.4 and 1.4A

This was done for 4K TVs for Netflix (But Not Sky Sports)! I wonder Why not?

So are we all going to have to spend Hundreds to get new Av Amps? which then wont support our Other Older Products Bluray Etc Etc Etc

The problem is that the V6 box tries to pick the highest available resolution. It tries to negotiate with the AV Amp and picks 4k, which has HDCP 2.0 protection. You AV amp then connects to your TV which is not 4k and cannot get past the HDCP protection and you get a black screen.

We should be able to specify on the V6 box which resolution we want to use.

The fix for me is to get a splitter for the HDMI output which is not capable of 4K. This plugs into the V6 box and sends the signal to the AV amp and then the TV as 1080p. You can get them off eBay for < £20.

My TV is 4K and works!

The Problem if you read is the fact that my AV Amp INPUT is only HDMI 1.4 and 1.4a and Not HDMI 2.0.

The black screen is the result of the AV amp not being able to Process HDMI 2.0 Video Input and I get sound because I run a Tos link Feedback loop.

The problem is that I have to use 3 remotes Instead of just my TiVo as my AV Amp is no longer connected to the V6 Box Via HDMI

So I have to manually change inputs on the Amp and control Volume using AV Remote.

 

Thank you for your comments but I have proven My Diagnosis by borrowing a new AV which is HDMI 2 Compliant and it all works as it should. and this has been confirm by an Independent AV Technician.
