V6 Port settings

I am getting a V6 soon and would like to know if there is any port settings I have to put into my own router and if so are the TCP or UDP or both. I will be giving the V6 a real hard wired address and would like to get things set up ready. I have also read that you have to use the VM DNS servers, which I do not, but I can not see any reason for this.

Re: V6 Port settings

V6 just works for me. I cant see you needing any port forwarding as even with the vagaries of HUB3's UNPNP there's no port forwarding required...

Youll likely need to use VM's DNS servers as a lot of on demand is going to be served from their CDN- but that's a guess. Ill ask the question for you.

Re: V6 Port settings

The answer  is in most circumstances, no you dont NEED to be using VM's default DNS.

Re: V6 Port settings

I have Shub 2ac and needed to use Port Forwarding even thought UPNP is set.
I found this by running Network Diagnostics....
