Re: V6 LAUNCH NEWS

Not the most accurate report on it..

Virgin's own tweets say that only Netflix & Youtube will be UHD - no suggestion that they might have any other UHD content at all.

Seems like they're only offering a 1TB version too.

Oh and pushing the TellyTablet , a 14" HD tablet of some kind which can be used to 'stream selected content'

Re: V6 LAUNCH NEWS

Call that a launch, what a waste, no price , no live stream, oh and a  tablet , big deal whoooppee . Unimpressed, now how about fixing this Current Tivo box, yep your  RC24 update did nothing.

So disappointing. Virgin's new Sky Q beater has half the storage. Sky Q is looking more and more appealing.

Re: V6 LAUNCH NEWS

I'm struggling to see what this will offer that Q doesn't already.

Wishlists, skip-back on fast-forward, series link+, remembering series links past the end of a series, automatic rescheduling, apps, suggestions etc. Basically, all the stuff that make the current TiVo better than the SkyQ box, but with the extra features that SkyQ has such as 4K, extra tuners and streaming between devices.

The SkyQ box is missing a lot of functionality that you get on even the current TiVo (though it is pretty fast).

It provides an option.

Q if you want to go with Sky, V6 if you want to go with Virgin. Choice is good.

Both will still have to mature but, if you are patient, you can wait and see how that goes.
