How come it would cost me and extra £44 to upgrade to the full house package with the new box yet if I was a new customer it would cost me £76 which would only be an increase of £15. Is this another case of screw the loyal customers?

I'm really sorry to hear that you are having an issue getting the correct pricing for upgrading your package. As mentioned by BenMcr, there is an issue with this currently
Did you have a chance to call in yet?
If not, give the team a call on 150 / 0345 454 1111 so they can check pricing for you. They can give you the prices for upgrading with or without a V6 box and also look at the different options available to you
