Is it a common/known issue to have recordings that run over (by the broadcaster) cut short ? I had set my box to record the Superbowl, but missed the crucial 40 min at the end. I called support, they told me that it was 'the broadcasters fault' for not sending an update. I have never seen or experience this on SKY. In order to test the theory, I set the box to record the rerun the next day. Same thing happened which tells me it has nothing to do with the broadcaster, but limitations on the box. Anyone experience this, and do you know of a fix?
This can sometimes happen with live events as they tend to run longer than they're scheduled in the TV guide but I have added a link here which will give you all the information regarding setting up recordings so I hope this helps.
