TV Anywhere failing to connect to Tivo V6

Hi - VM on Twitter have directed me here for help, I hope you can.

I had a V6 installed on Friday but have been unable to connect my V6 box to TV anywhere on either my iPad or Android phone.  I've selected the V6 box as default and made sure the app is using that box.

When trying to setup, it gets stuck at Step 2 - Checking activation status

I've checked the streaming status and it says "Precondition Failed"

Can someone help me please? (I have rebooted the V6 at least 3 times in trying to get this sorted)

I get the same with my Samsung S6 phone. It asks to restart the streaming device but it makes no difference.

The Sky Go App worked without a hitch but this is useless!

Have you tried uninstalling the app and then do a fresh Install?

Sadly, after several hours on the phone VM have had to escalate the issue as they've not seen the problem before.

I'm expecting an answer in a few days.

Things already tried:

  • Rebooting V6 box (multiple times)
  • VM activating the Tivo V6 services
  • Installing, uninstalling, installing again the TV Anywhere app (on both my Galaxy S6 Edge and on my iPad)
  • Changing the name of the WiFi (no idea why that would help, but VM thought it might)
  • Connecting the V6 via WiFi rather than ethernet connection
  • Ensuring all software updates have been applied to Andoid and iPad

All devices (V6, phone and tablet) appear as connected devices on the Hub3 so there does not appear to be an obvious reason that it does not work.

I have done all the above except calling customer services as it is a painful process.....

Still no joy with my Samsung S6

Make a point of asking for the "Lightning Team" when you first get through to tech support.  They have been set up as specialists for the V6 box.

I'm having a similar problem with Samsung Galaxy S7 v7 Nougat. After trying to sign in the app hangs with the circle going round. It cannot find what to stream with, or if I skip that it hangs or says reconnecting and then hangs. My TiVo v6 also has had a message in Network of C133. The V6 is wired to the router and shows no panel lights, so is connected. I have reinstalled the TV Anywhere app numerous times, have forced stop and also cleared the cache.

Still no response from VM after it was "escalated" over a week ago (more like 9-10 days now).

Has anyone been able to get this working?  I'm paying for a service which I'm not receiving.

Thanks martintrorey. In fact I seem to have resolved it by simply resetting the TiVo V6.

It's been a little while since you last posted, are you still having trouble with this?
