Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

Hi squig007,

Thanks for your post and query Smiley Happy

Currently there are no plans to include this within our content. We are always looking for ways to improve our service though and will of course try our best to get anything our customers want.

If we do agree a deal with Sky, we'll let you know.

Thanks,

Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

If there are no plans (currently) to include 4K/UHD content on V6 boxes, then why is it 4K compatible? Kind of defeats the object of having 4K/UHD in the box if it isn't going to (currently, or in the future (?) being utilised...

Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

If it wasn't 4K capable, you couldn't watch the 4K material from Netflix and YouTube, could you?

Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

It's in the TV already - mine is 4K.

I now have the V6 box, but Virgin really should be considering brokering a deal to give us 4K like BT & Sky.

For now, it's kinda fur coat and no knickers, if you know what I mean...

I'm sure they are considering it, but that also depends on BT/Sky being willing to lose subscribers through reselling the channels.

Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

Sky Atlantic is a different kettle of fish - it's an agreement with HBO, which they're definitely not giving up.

If it's anything like the year BT Sport launched then whatever deal VM have won't be known until a day or so before the start of the football season, likely held off for as long as possible to give BT a chance to poach customers.

Re: Sky sports uhd on virgin uhd box

Still cant see it happening, why would you sell on the only thing that makes your box different ie. 4K content not available on 4K smart tv. Lets see virgin prove me wrong .
