Samsung KS8000/9000 V6 black screen solved

Morning all

One of the issues I had, and by the look of it several other have, is that when you first turn the tv on in the morning (after its been off for a few hours) you just get a black screen. You then have to change source and then change back to the V6 to get a picture. This is a Samsung issue, not a V6 issue, after the last firmware update (1160). To solve it, change source to TV, then in the tv settings menu go to Broadcasting, Autotuning and turn off Autotuning. Worked for me

I don't have the same model, but I'll take a look and see if my HU8500 has a similar option.

I have "Auto tuning in standby" and presume you mean this?

I'll try this and see what happens tomorrow.

Three days down the line and I've not had a reoccurrence of the black screen at start up so looks like its a permanent fix (Until another firmware update breaks it !!)

Seems to have solved the issues here too.

I cancelled the engineer visit, and advised the call centre.

I also had this problem with a KS9000. I spoke to Samsung Customer Services and they ran me through the fix over the phone. First unplug the TV from the mains wait for 20 seconds then plug it back in, go into the settings and do a factory reset this will reset the TV to the way it was when it came out of the box.  

No problems since the reset.

Presumably the issue will re-occur when the next auto update happens?
