SCART Out socket on back of V6

I can see from the picture of the back of the V6 box on the VM website there is a socket marked SCART Out. Is this enabled? Has anyone used it? Can it be used for a DVD Recorder like the current TiVo box?

It seems to be like a S-VHS socket, so what really is the signal?

If it is disabled it therefore means you cannot copy any programmes off the box to a DVD recorder. Another backward step for VM.

Yep, can no longer use old analogue video senders too.

On the other hand you can download your recordings to another device

Unfortunately you cannot download programmes to a NAS to keep.

ARGHHHHH Oh no so my Sling Box would be useless.....
I use this at work to watch/listen to the cricket at work as my works internet functions like we are in the U.S. so BBC Radio for cricket does not work due to internet rights.

I'm probably the only one on this forum with this very backward use of a slingbox but have also used it when on holiday also.

This is going to need some thinking about and I am going to cry in a dark room.

That combo may work, or may not as nobody's tried it

Re: SCART Out socket on back of V6

Thanks for the suggestions.
Was reading about getting a new Slingbox which is a bit extreme and lots of reports that they don't work with the newer Sky and Virgin boxes as the new Slingboxes are designed for HD but HDMI is encoded and all sorts of things.

I've always had it going to a scart even in the days of the V+ so I may try and see if composite works on my TiVo and if it does then the V6 may work also???

Re: SCART Out socket on back of V6

Hi I think it says USB on that port, I am afraid Scart is now old technology. The new box is Trying to be more up to date after much criticism of the tivo lagging behind other systems. You can't please all of the people all of the time. Regards Micky
