S101 / WO2 error on new box

So 4 days into my new Virign service and my supposedly groundbreaking V6 box is now refusing to detect any channels. Broadband work fine, aerial is working fine etc. Tried help over the phone and despite 30 minute waiting times and repeatedly being transferred they were completely unhelpful.

To rub salt in the wounds, the earliest they can apparently get a "technician" to me is next week. 

I left BT precisely because I was sick of these kind of problems and this kind of service. The question is whether I pull the plug on my deal and switch to sky or is it worth bearing with it?
