Remote Control

My Wife hates the tivo remote control to the point of wanting me to get the v+ box back.
She asked will the V6 come with a new remote and I said yes, however as its virtually the same as the tivo one I expect she'll want me to send the V6 back when we get one.

I can't persuade her to learn to use the box fully, so all she wants to be able to do is

turn the box on and off
select bbc1
the press up and down to go through the channels.

When we got the tivo, she complained that the new box had the same Chanel repeated loads of times.
I thought she just meant the HD, SD and +1, however on watching her one day, she kept accidentally pressing down instead of up so would go up and down a few times by mistake.

That aside, even I have managed to do it when the lights are low.

So is there a chance anytime of having a remote with the standard channel navigation buttons a bit more prominent.

On the plus side I note that the remote on the phone app has nice big buttons, but I'm not sure how practical that is for general use as it will need to keep going to sleep.

Also, can the v6 box be persuaded to work with any type of universal remote control ?
